The longer the better??

So a friend of you wants a scarf, a really long scarf…what do you do?? I asked her to bring me some big wool (yes I’m looking at you Dana *LOL*). What did SHE do??

Instead of thick yarn she brought me some BIG, REALLY BIG balls of wool *LOL* see??

I had to put my hand next to it so you can see the real sice. I already knitted the scarf and they are still HUGE!!!!!!!!! The problem was that the wool itself wasn’t as thick as I wanted it to be. Instead of knitting a colorful pattern I decided to take it double so I was able to knit with 12 mm needles ;) so I was able to finish the scarf in just two evenings ;)

See?

I really like how it turned out and so did she, at least that’s what she told me :P ! I will make her a matching hat soon…

The braidy family…

Since my wedding I fell in love with i my hair so how about some hats with braids? I bought a new magazin with knitting papers and you can’t see the braids that good because of the color of the wool but I like how the pattern turned out. It’s knitted with 7mm needles:

Wearing it…please ignore my “no make up face” ;P

I chose the wool for a reason. Some weeks ago I knitted a neckwarmer

See??

Scarf

And it fits okay I think…

:)

The neckwarmer is knitted very easily. I used this ravelry pattern (the name was reason enough) and I finished it in just one evening:

It’s sooo soft and comfy!!!!

So what did you do on the weekend??

My best friend is the best. Since I didn’t make any pictures of one of my hats and her sister bought it she made pictures for me. She even added the cuteness of her mom’s dog :P !

So I give MarySew‘s sister the honor of being on the first picture of my work posted on this blog. Have fun with it and tell them where you got it ;)

beige hat with buttons It’s knitted with beige wool on 6 mm needles. I used a lacy pattern from nadelspiel.com and changed it a bit to make the wholes a bit bigger .It’s not to slouchy and I enjoyed knitting it a lot.

To give it a bit of uniqueness I made some covered some buttons with matching fabric and sewed them on it.

I hope you like the hat. I’m happy that I know someone will wear it this winter.

Oh and if you like the scarf on these pictures…head over to MarySew cause she made it and it’s really cute.

Thanks for watching.

Take care,

head hunting…

…not in any job related way. I’m searching for a nice mannequin head. It’s way easier to try out stuff on a mannequin than on your own in front of a mirror, let me tell you that. I’m tired of cramps in my arms because I’m clinging to my knitting needles and try to measure stuff at the same time! I just browsed ebay but the heads are either way too creepy or overprized.
I’ll try one of my favourite places to shop crafty things beacuse Trisha from MarySew told me she saw something I might like…well I’ll report about that soon!
